Oceanco released the details of its latest concept, the 120-metre Amara, during the Dubai International Boat Show this week. The newly designed and engineered private yacht concept is the result of a collaboration with Sorgiovanni Designs and has been dubbed a “resort” yacht.

“In designing the exterior lines of Amara, I wanted to portray a very strong and muscular form that was progressive in design but with a timeless appeal,” said director, Sam Sorgiovanni of the project.

The philosophy behind Amara is that the yacht would be used by extended families and friends, with up to 20 guests on board.

The profile includes a striking, extended bow with touch-and-go helipad and generous outdoor social spaces spread across five exterior deck levels.

Amara's extending aft deck is dedicated to wellness.

The ubiquitous Beach Club has been employed to full effect on Amara, with an expanding swim platform extending out over the water, a large wellness area featuring a banya, hammam and beauty treatment lounge; a gym on the bridge deck has sweeping views of the surroundings.

A 16-seat private cinema is also located on the lower deck, though for alfresco entertainment a cabana on the sundeck also doubles up as an outdoor cinema.

The fully-equipped gym is just one of the leisure facilities onboard Amara.

A major social focus would no doubt be the main deck aft, with a large swimming pool featuring a cascading waterfall from the level above, a pool bar, opening balconies and multiple dining and lounging areas. There is also an expansive relaxation and lounging area on the foredeck adjacent to the helipad.

The Amara concept also features two Majilis-style areas for intimate gatherings, said Oceanco, and there is an owner’s apartment on the upper deck with private plunge pool and open-air dining on the aft deck for over 20 guests.

Luminous and lovely, at 120-metres Amara is also massive.

Amara reflects Oceanco’s applied evolutionary thinking, allowing clients to shape their way of life on board. Amara will take you from the crystal waters of the Maldives to the Caribbean islands, from the ancient marvels of the Mediterranean to the golden sands of Sri Lanka, in privacy, safety, and tranquillity,” said Oceanco in its announcement.
