Sydney Harbour on a balmy summer’s evening – the venue could not have been better for the Australian launch of the superlative Numarine 62 Hard Top.

A guest list comprising valued clients, media and staff congregated at Darling Harbour and then set off for a twilight cruise, putting the first model of its kind through its paces.

“This is hull number 1, sold to an Aussie owner,” stated Paul Miletta, Q7 Marine director, exclusive dealer for Numarine motor yachts. “He is already planning to upgrade to the 78 because he wants even more space, so this boat is for sale. We will be showing it at Sydney Boat Show in August, and anticipate the arrival of the 62 Flybridge in September to join it.”

The very first unit of 62HT (Hardtop model) is described as “a boundary-breaking boat - conceived to have the highest volume in the 60-foot category”.

Measuring in a 19.16 meters LOA, with a 5.15 metre beam, the Numarine 62HT has the same bold styling common to all the Turkish yard's family line products, with a sportive design that respects the exceptional onboard space available to the owner. Ample open areas and brightly lit interiors define Numarine's traditional and characteristic layout.

The 62HT is the product of Numarine's designer Can Yalman, responsible for the concept, lines and interiors while Umberto Tagliavini is the naval architect and Gurit was in charge of the structural engineering.

The glazing is a highlight on the 62HT.

Paul Miletta, Director of Q7 Marine – official Numarine dealer for Australia - is very proud of the first model in his country: “We’re different to everyone else. The boat is vacuum infused, the quietness is unbelievable, we are cruising with 67dba at the helm. The space for a 62 is like that of a 70-footer. We've managed to get everything on one level and we have full standing height in the engine room”.

While the styling is certainly eye-catching, the 62HT appears to support its contemporary European design lines with some practicality. There’s a large cockpit, wide walkaround decks, and an especially accommodating sunken bow seating area.

Comfort and cheer were the guidelines in designing the Numarine 62HT’s internal layout. The three guest cabins, well fitted out with plenty of storage space, each have their own bathroom and are much larger than you would expect in a boat of this size. The full-beam owner’s suite, with its huge picture windows at water level, fills the cabin full of light and the view it offers to those reclining in bed (165cm wide) is breathtaking

Among her myriad features, space is the most noticeable. “the 62 feels like the volume of a 70-footer,” said Miletta. “It’s single level living, seamlessly flowing from the cockpit through the boat, even to the bow, where we had 18 people in perfect comfort for our cocktail event and cruise.”

Free-flowing and airy, the single-level 62HT is an entertainer's delight.

The 62HT is a six-berth boat, with three cabins, including a full-beam Master and VIP. The saloon is massive, and its proportions exaggerated by the extensive use of glass, and electric sunroof that opens the living space to the outdoors.

On the 62HT, there is a large tender garage, while on the 62 Flybridge, this space is dedicated to crew quarters and the tender can be stowed on the bow.

“It’s literally a compact superyacht - all the features you would expect from a much larger vessel,” added Miletta. “Numarine is a semi-custom builder so our clients are able to create their own stamp on their boat. Build time is 27 weeks, which is exceptional for such a high-quality product.”

Australian dealer, Paul Miletta with Numarine founder, Ömer Malazs at the Sydney launch of the 62HT.

Numarine was founded in Turkey by avid boater, Ömer Malaz, who was aiming to create his own vision of the perfect cruising motor yacht, combining aesthetics, performance and world-class quality.

Malaz described the 62HT as “the best model to introduce Numarine to Australia”.

“It carries all of the Numarine DNA – innovative exterior design, enormous amount of exterior light in the interiors, seaworthy performance and the quietest and most comfortable interior in its category.  We are proud of this new model expect great results in Australia!”
